HALTER
Community Service

![]()
HALTER provides an opportunity for teens with court assigned community service to complete their hours at our facility. Community service workers report to HALTER at 7:30 a.m. on Saturday with a parent for a brief orientation meeting and to fill out required release forms. Each participant must bring a lunch and a drink. All participants must wear appropriate clothing for working in a field, including closed toe shoes or boots if muddy conditions are anticipated. No tight fitting or excessively baggy clothes are permitted. Community service work hours on Saturday are from 8:00a.m.-2:00 p.m.
HALTER can provide a unique opportunity to any group such as: the Boy and Girl Scouts of America, civic clubs, schools or church's to participate in a service project that is both worthwhile and fun. Participants can provide a community service while simultaneously earning a badge, completing a service based project or fulfilling community service hours. This is the perfect opportunity to learn about horses while assisting the needs of individuals with learning or physical disabilities. Several Girl Scout troops have already visited the facility and our obstacle course was designed and built by two separate eagle scout projects.
St. Luke's United Methodist Church answered the call last year and provided money for vaccinations for the horses.
