HALTER
was founded in the Spring of 2001 by the President, Maria Pigozzi. As the
mother of a special needs child, she was inspired
to find a method to help other children with special needs.
HALTER
currently has four directors. Director Gail Dunn is a certified teacher
experienced in community service and working with horses. Director Mario Pinzon is an experienced manager, trainer and breeder. He has worked with
horses and obedience dogs for many years. Director Janice Russell has sat
on the board of directors of the local YMCA and has been active in the
many school organizations her four children have been involved in.
Director Leonard Chiakind is the Chairman & CEO of Institutional
Investors Consulting Company in Houston, Texas and before that, he worked
for Royal Dutch Shell and the Shell Oil Company for 33 years in a wide

HALTER
has been fortunate to acquire a number of quality miniature horses for use
in the special needs classes, as well as several other miniature horses to
train as pet therapy animals. The Photo

horses & kids!
HALTER
has implemented a pet therapy program, miniature horse program
designed to help special needs children and an at-risk teen program due to the generosity of a number of special
